For avid bird hunters like widely recognized author & artist Steven Mulak, each fall is a progression. At first, the hunting is a matter of struggling with still-intact foliage & with young dogs whose boundless enthusiasm causes them to crown & bump grouse & woodcock concealed on the floor of the coverts. Later, though, visibility improves, the dog settles down, & the gun handling again becomes second nature, signaling the best of times. B&W illus by the author; 6x9 inches, 256 pgs.
